Shipping

Shipping and Handling:

All of our fish, plants and invertebrates are home grown in our aquariums and we pride ourselves in getting them to you as safely and fast as possible. It is because of this that we handle our pets with care and protect them during transit so that they can get safely to you.

Shipping days:

We ship on Mondays and Tuesdays and may ship on Wednesdays but at buyers risk. We may also ship on Saturday so that they arrive early the next week. We reserve the right to delay any order due to weather conditions.

Packaging:

We package our fish in a small box with foam boarding around it, top and bottom. They are shipped in breather bags to help with the exchange of oxygen during transit and avoid suffocation. A day prior to being shipped they are not fed so that they produce minimal waste in transit. They are padded with either foam, old newspapers or printing paper. Snails are packaged in the same fashion and with breather bags.

Plants are packaged in a small bag. We roll or surround the plant on wet paper towels to avoid it drying up in transit and seal the bag. The bag is usually rolled with more paper towels as cushion depending on how big the plants is, if not foam is added.

Shipping to US:

Shipping to the United States is typically done through USPS. Our default method is using 3-Day Priority Shipping. We have found that using this method the fish alive well if properly packaged. Please specify your states temperature during the winter months because if they are too low you will need a heat pad which is available for $5. Shipping for plants is usually $7.65 for small portion of plants and $15.05 for larger rooted plants. Shipping for fish is $15.05 for up to 4 pairs while snails is $7.65.

Puerto Rico:

Same shipping charges apply or we could go to a middle point and exchange the items.

International Shipping:

Sorry no international shipping is available at this time. We are trying to get reasonable prices for the spring and summer months.

DOA Policy:

If on the rare occasion DOA is received please send a picture in the unopened bag within 2 hours after receiving the package. The buyer MUST be present at the time of delivery for DOA policy to be fulfilled. Choices of re-sending or partial refund will be given, shipping will NOT BE REFUNDED.  If re-sending is picked buyer must pay for shipping only. Once the package is sent it is out of our control and in that of the shipping company, we are not liable for delays.
